Devorah Khan from the City of Vancouver's Food Policy Group will be coming to speak to us to discuss how we can best work together to accomplish our mutally held goals of creating gardens throughout the city. She may suggest that we start a non-profit or join and existing one.

The meeting will be held in the community room of the co-op I live in.

    • “ Very informative. Nice to meet people from the group and hear about all the varying interests. I thought Devorah was very helpful. What next? ”
    • “ The meeting was informative but it would have been nice to get to a place where there were some clear next steps and action items so that we could begin to move forward in a coordinated fashion. It apprears that creating or joining a non-profit is required to garden cooperatively with the city. Devorah indicated that it would be better to join an existing non-profit that wants to expand its reach over creating a new one if possible. I think we need to form into neighbourhoods and then approach Devorah for land in those neighbourhoods. In parallel we can all come together as a larger whole to apply pressure on city council to support their 2010 initiative with some funding. ”
